U.S. expansion: New IT-services partnership

Cegid signs distribution agreement with Point of Sale System Services (PSS), who will provide solution support and implementation services

To further its development in the U.S., Cegid has recently signed a strategic partnership with Point of Sale System Services, Incorporated (PSS), headquartered in Shirley, Massachusetts. Under the agreement, PSS will provide Cegid customers with POS system configuration, store roll-out, and maintenance services. Additionally, as a developer, distributor and integrator, PSS designs and markets its own solutions alongside solutions from its large partner network, which includes hardware partners such as IBM, Epson, Fujitsu, and NCR. U.S.-based Cegid Corp., a subsidiary of the Cegid Group, which had nearly $300 million in revenues worldwide in fiscal year 2006, provides solutions at more than 150 client sites in North America, with a particularly strong focus in the fashion sector.

Patrick Bertrand, Cegid CEO, is pleased with the agreement: "This new agreement is yet another step in Cegid's development in English-speaking countries. The partnership with PSS is going to quickly strengthen our position in the retail and retail fashion sectors, where we already support clients. PSS will distribute the Cegid Business Fashion offering, including the Cegid Back Office solution (inventory, customer, and sales-management functionality) and the Cegid Front Office solution (POS and store-management functionality), which has won overwhelming acceptance in France, where Cegid is well established as a leader in the fashion sector.
